Governing

I feel perhaps the most important thing a member of the Readfield Select Board can do is listen to residents about their concerns. Every time a new situation develops I will spend as much time as necessary to completely understand the issue and weigh the facts.

Core Beliefs:

Force for Good

Town Government should always strive to provide the best outcome for the Town and Residents. Sometimes this may require making difficult choices, but local government should be a force for good.

Fiscal Responsibility

Residents have consistently made it clear that they want the best services they can get for the best price. This sometimes means spending a little more in the short term for the long term gain.

Transparency

Government should always be transparent in all their actions no matter how big or small. Residents can't engage if the Town isn't completely transparent.

Communication

I tend to over communicate. Rarely do I not respond to someone within a few hours, but always within a business day. Again it's hard to engage if those who you are trying to communicate with refuse to respond in a timely manner.

Facts & Evidence

No one can know it all. When presented with facts and evidence I will always reevaluate and often change my position on topics.

Due Diligence

Rarely do I take things as presented. I like to fact check and confirm the accuracy of statements. This includes not only when it's something I'm inclined not to believe, but more importantly when it is something I'm inclined to believe.
